About Pumbaa
Pumbaa is a 20 lb, lively young dog of mixed, possibly dachshund, terrier, and corgi background. He came from a house packed with over 50 other animals, so most things outside his dog pack are still a bit new and sometimes overwhelming. Pumbaa hasn’t had much early socialization with people, but he’s learning how to trust, and every week he gets braver. He adores other dogs and finds comfort in their presence—a confident, friendly dog buddy in his new home will help him adjust even faster. Pumbaa still shies away sometimes, but he always comes around for a quick pet or gentle lick. At heart, he’s a sweet boy who simply needs a patient, gentle adopter willing to go at his pace. He’ll do best with a family who understands that trust takes time. Pumbaa is already house trained and has learned to love his people, just cautiously. He is good with other dogs and children but prefers a calm, steady home where he can grow into his best self. Adopters need to come meet him in person, and Pumbaa can’t be shipped or transported. Give this shy, loving pup the home and guidance he needs to become the loyal dog he’s meant to be. Your new best friend is just one click away.

Questions about Pumbaa
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Pumbaa, being a mixed-breed dog with terrier, dachshund, and possibly corgi influences, would do well in a home where he has space to explore and a stable routine. He adapts best to environments that provide both comfort and patience, especially given his background.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
A moderate yard or regular access to outdoor walks suits Pumbaa well. Mixed-breed dogs like him appreciate space to sniff and play but don't require vast open areas. Daily walks and some playtime will keep him happy.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Pumbaa is good with children and, with proper introductions and supervision, would do nicely in a home with kids, especially those who understand gentle handling.
