About Tiny Chiragra

Videos Chi Chi and Tiny make friends: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/YM6MepmiSA8 Chi Chi and Tiny are Cute: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ZXCVs4-X0FE Behavior Notes Volunteer 5/21: Volunteer notes 5/21 Both pups were in front of their kennel and easy to leash. We walked out to the large run with Tiny being very straight and steady, while Chi Chi sometimes circled a bit around her handler. While in the run, the pups quickly did their business. Chi Chi immediately sat for pets from a volunteer. She was relaxed and calm. Tiny ran around the run and ran by Chi Chi and they but he ran around playfully with each other. While running, they've tagged with both of us volunteers stopping for sniffs and pets. Tiny climbed in the volunteers lap for pets and attention. Both pups had high energy and were playful. They sought pets from each of us several times. Chi Chi was carried back to the shelter and seemed to enjoy that while Tiny walked back inside. The blankets and kennel were cleaned and Chi Chi stayed carried with me while we got new blankets. No issues with over the head leash removal from either dog. Both took treats nicely BTW. What a great visit! Staff 5/19: Easy to leash. Walked pulling midldly on leash, ears to the side, mid tail. In the yard, sniffed around, took treats gently, mid to low tail, ears back. Would come over for treats. Tolerated petting with ears back, low tail, moved away when I stopped. Allowed me to pick her up to return as the ground was hot, tail low, ears back when I picked her up. Hopped right into kennel and leash was removed easily. Per Volunteer 5/17: "Tiny is often at the front of their top surgical kennel, very eager to come out, with Chichi behind her, circling around, not straying far from Tiny, kind of guarding Tiny. Chichi has a tendency to be a little ornery and vocal. Both have to be lifted out. Tiny was very excited to come out, so we wanted to get her out first. It just took a minute to figure how to lift Tiny out with Chichi still in. We blocked Chichi with a blanket so I could quickly leash and lift out Tiny. Tiny briefly shook, but stopped when I placed her on the ground while we waited for Chichi. Chichi was challenging, since she was barky, so Jennie tossed the blanket over Chichi and picked her up. Once she was in Jennie's arms, we uncovered the blanket and she was fine - she didn't resist, she didn't squirm, she didn't snarl, she didn't growl, she seemed content. In the yard, both dogs showed us they were trying to stay house trained. They walked around, stopped to take in the smells, and both relieved themselves. When we sat down on the bench, Tiny came right over, jumped up on the bench, then on the blanket to sit beside Jennie. Chichi wanted to also, but she's too short, so we pulled over the cushion. Chichi stepped onto that and jumped on our bench. And then surprisingly, she started walking from one lap to another getting pets. She still was shaking, but after several minutes, she stopped. Tiny seems jealous of attention that Chichi gets, sometimes nudging her way between Chichi and whoever was petting Chichi. We stayed on the bench petting both dogs for about 15 minutes. To remove Chichi from the yard Jennie slowly picked her up without the blanket and Chichi was fine. Tiny is fine walking back into the shelter and being lifted into the kennel. When we went to put them back into the kennel, I put Tiny in first, but there was something about their behavior that made us realize Chichi needs to go in first and then Tiny. Tiny might be jealous if Chichi gets more attention. Once back in the surgical kennel, they were both fine and we gave them treats. I walked by later to find chichi burrowed under the blanket, but when she heard me, she poked her head out." Staff 5/14: Kennel Presentation: At the front when i approached with wide eyes, ears forward and tight closed mouth with lips pulled back. Leash Skills: used a treat lure to leash up. Zig zagging behind her sister tiny. Was able to use a blanket to pick up and place on the ground. Walked with tail down, ears forward and eyes darting. Sociability: asocial. Pacing the yard, stayed close to her sister. Exit searching. Jumped up on the bench when i was sitting on it because tiny was up there. Play: n/a Dog Interaction: n/a Return to Kennel: let me pick her up with the same blanket as before and i was able to slowly remove the leash with my hand. Color Level: blue 5/10:Spoke with family member who surrendered these dogs (original owner was deported so not available to discuss). I asked if they know if the dogs are bonded or if they think that the dogs would be OK if separated. She said "no, they're bonded." Leaving bonded attribute in profile.
