About Briar

Briar is a gorgeous 1-year-old sable German Shepherd living in Oceanside, CA. She’s spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and weighs about 70 pounds. Briar is professionally trained in basic obedience—she’s already crate-trained, house trained, heels beautifully on leash, and gets along with other dogs. She’s currently in a foster home with four other resident dogs and especially enjoys playing with a 40lb pitbull puppy, but could also thrive as an only dog if that’s your setup. As a solo pet, expect her to be a bit more settled with less day-to-day rowdiness, though she’ll benefit from regular social playtime to keep her friendly and neutral around other dogs. If you’re drawn to working breeds and want to skip the headache of puppy teething, destruction, and messy house-training, Briar checks all the boxes. She’s got youthful spirit and playfulness, but she’s old enough to stay home alone during a standard workday—her fosters regularly leave her crated when they’re out, and she does great. She loves her people deeply and offers the classic protective spirit that comes with a German Shepherd. Briar may bark when strangers approach but she warms up quickly. She has a goofy side, always making those around her laugh with her playful antics—a big transformation from the shut-down pup pulled off the euthanasia list not long ago. Now, she’s happy, healthy, and ready to light up someone else’s life. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
