About Shadow
Shadow is a driven, athletic border collie mix living in Oceanside, CA, looking for someone who really understands her breed and working nature. She thrives on much more than just a daily walk—Shadow wants her person to bike, hike, and maybe swim alongside her. She enjoys carrying a weighted pack on outings, which helps channel her energy and keeps her engaged. Matching her lifestyle requires real commitment to activity and structure. Shadow prefers a home without small animals or little dogs, and she only mixes well with select dogs after gradual, proper introductions. She doesn’t like chaotic dog environments, so dog parks and high-energy daycares are out. Structured pack activities or having no dog companions at all both suit her. Extremely smart and quick to learn, Shadow knows many obedience cues and is crate trained—she uses her crate for sleeping, eating, and downtime. She tends to keep strangers at arm’s length and would never feel at home in a social hangout or coffee shop, but with the right guidance, she manages public spaces. Shadow will do best with an experienced adult adopter able to give her both active adventure and calm structure. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
