Barely
AvailableBarely is a young, medium-sized Labrador Retriever mix with a golden and white coat. He has been neutered and is up to date on all vaccinations. Barely is currently being cared for in Portland, OR, where he’s looking for a calm, attentive home that meets his energy and activity needs.
About Barely
Barely is searching for a special home that will offer patience and a sense of calm. He’s been working with a behavior and training team to help him settle in and he’ll need his new family to meet him a few times before going home. Barely is shy and can be nervous around new people, new places, and touch, so slow introductions and a steady routine work best for him. He thrives on learning, so having toys and treats handy will help reinforce positive behaviors. He can get restless and frustrated if he doesn’t get enough activity, so regular exercise and adventure are important—leash walks and supervised outdoor play are a must, as he has a knack for slipping out of doors or fences. Barely loves meeting and playing with other dogs, so a canine buddy could be a great fit, but cats and small pets may not suit him. A calm, low-traffic home (no busy apartments or noisy neighborhoods) and older, dog-savvy children are recommended. All canine companions must meet him before adoption. Give Barely time to settle in and he’ll pay you back with loyalty and affection. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
