About Captain

Captain is a stunning young black "house panther" with piercing green eyes and the tiniest splash of white on his chest. It's just enough to make him extra unforgettable! Captain first came to us as a kitten in 2024 alongside his siblings Hulk, Thyme, Chewie, Tippy, and Pepper. The entire litter was adopted and we truly believed they had all found their happily ever afters. Captain spent the last two years in a home we hoped would be forever. Sadly, through no fault of his own, he has recently been returned to us. Captain's previous home included a child who frequently hassled him and the experience left him overwhelmed and stressed. Because of this history and because Captain can become overstimulated during energetic play and start roughhousing when excited, he is looking for a calm, understanding adult-only home or one with older, respectful teens who understand feline boundaries. Despite everything, Captain is still an incredibly handsome, spirited boy with so much love to give. He enjoys playtime, attention and companionship, but he'll thrive best with someone who can recognize when he needs a break and help him channel his playful energy appropriately. Like many young cats, he benefits from interactive play, enrichment and patient guidance. Captain has already had his life turned upside down twice. What he needs now is someone willing to give him the stability, patience and understanding he deserves. He needs a true forever home where he can finally feel safe. If you're looking for a loyal companion with movie star looks and a big personality, Captain may be waiting just for you. The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!
