Popeye is a Galgo Spanish Greyhound, recently arrived from Spain and now settling into life in Sterling Heights, MI. Like many galgos, Popeye comes from a tough past, but this new chapter offers the stability and kindness he deserves. He is in the process of decompressing, learning to trust, and figuring out that the world isn't always a hard place. As Popeye adjusts, he will need a patient home with people who will let him move at his own pace and help his personality develop fully. Popeye is a large brindle male with a short coat, and he is already neutered and up to date on vaccinations. He does not get along with other dogs or cats, and will do best with older children. He's still adapting to home life and is not yet house trained. A secure, fenced yard is a must to help this athletic and sensitive boy feel safe while he gets comfortable and learns the ropes. The rescue is actively getting to know Popeye as he settles in further. While he needs support and understanding, his gentle nature shines through. He’s waiting for a family who understands what it means to give a dog a second chance and is ready to offer him the stability and unconditional kindness he missed out on before.
