Quakes
AvailableQuakes is a four-month-old orange and white American Shorthair/Domestic Short Hair mix, currently living in Brooklyn, NY. He sports a short coat and falls into the medium size range. Neutered and up to date on vaccinations, he is house trained and has special needs due to Cerebellar Hypoplasia, requiring rugs or carpet and step access for higher surfaces to keep him safe. Quakes is a young, lively male with a warm, endearing side—his Capricorn sun sign means he’s likely to bring both curiosity and resilience to his new home.
About Quakes
Quakes is a classic orange boy kitten: outgoing, playful, and inventive with anything in his path. He’s got a strong independent streak and entertains himself for hours, yet when he’s ready for affection he’ll make himself known, often seeking a snuggle or some cozy time. Quakes has Cerebellar Hypoplasia (Wobbly Cat Syndrome), displaying the wobbliest tail around, but it doesn’t keep him from racing, jumping, and causing the kind of joyful chaos that makes his name so fitting. You’ll hear his playful thumps as he zooms across rooms, unfazed by occasional tumbles and always springing back with determination. Despite unsteady limbs, Quakes is learning to jump with more confidence and often surprises himself with new acrobatic accomplishments—like launching himself into the tub, toy in tow. His love of play knows no limits: springs, sparkly balls, rattly mice, and crinkly toys all keep him busy. He bird-watches with fierce concentration, letting out little quakes of excitement as he hunkers down, undetected. Quakes needs a home where he can safely explore. He can hop onto a low sofa but needs carpet runners or area rugs to avoid slipping and soft landings to keep him safe. Stairs or ramps are essential for higher spots like beds—otherwise, he’ll attempt a leap, and less-than-graceful landings could lead to injury. His legs splay out like a skiing fawn without traction, but he finds his way just fine given a thoughtful setup. He has been tested for FIV and FELV, vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. His zest for life and sense of humor are infectious—get ready for seismic silliness and loads of charm. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
