2.5 years old Cholito or Al, as his foster mom calls him, is Full of Love and Personality. Al was rescued from a high kill shelter where he surrendered by his previous family, who had adopted him from the same shelter when he was a baby. Sad and dejected, Al met Joe at the shelter and they became besties who comforted each other. They were rescued together and went to the same foster home in Houston, where they live together with other doggie and kittie foster siblings. Al and Joe are both good with dogs, cats, kids and people. Al is now looking for a forever home where he can play fetch, follow his human and just be a happy pup that he is. Because he loves to play ball, he will need a fenced yard. Al is a bit timid but incredibly loving. He thrives on affection and is happiest soaking up attention from his people. He loves toys—especially fetch (did we say that) —and will gladly be your playtime buddy before curling up on the couch for some well-earned snuggles. A home with or without other pups is fine for him as long as he gets the love he craves for. Al is house broken and crate trained. He knows some basic commands. He is not a barker (except when the UPS truck stops by) and he is very food motivated (great for training!) Al is affectionate, people-friendly pups who enjoy being around their humans. After playtime, he and Joe are happy to relax on the couch and just be part of the family. Al is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated pup who is kept on heartworm and flea preventatives. Al is able to go home as a solo pup but if you’re looking for a pair that brings both fun energy and sweet companionship, Al and Joe are your perfect match. Al is currently being fostered in Houston but can travel to any state, even Canada to the right home. There is a $250 transport fee depending on the destination. Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets.
