Onyx was time-stamped due to his length of stay and medical needs. He came to us very sick with pneumonia and went through multiple surgeries and emergency vet visits. For so long, Onyx never really had the chance to just be a dog because he was always fighting to feel better. But Onyx fought, and we fought right alongside him. Now, after being loved back to health, Onyx is finally living the life he always deserved. He loves to run, play, cuddle, and enjoy every second of being happy and healthy. He is extremely friendly, affectionate, and full of personality. He jumps like a little kangaroo, so a fenced-in yard with a high fence is a must because this boy can bounce. Onyx is hard of hearing and only has one ear due to the double TECA surgeries he underwent. He truly tries his best to follow commands and learn routines, but he does best when spoken to loudly and when hand motions are used to help guide him. Despite everything he has been through, Onyx remains incredibly loving, trusting, and eager to connect with people. He is dog-friendly, cat-friendly, kid-friendly, and loves everyone he meets. He is also extremely food motivated and will do just about anything for a treat. Onyx has overcome more than most dogs ever should. Now he just needs a forever family willing to love this resilient, goofy, affectionate boy exactly as he is.
