Sheriff is an approximately five-year-old gentleman currently living in foster in Presidio, and he may just be the gentlest lawman west of the Pecos. These days, he’s ready to retire his badge and focus on the important things in life: a loving family, cool water on a hot day, and the perfect balance of independence and being completely spoiled. Sheriff absolutely loves his doggie pool, sprinklers, and anything involving water. He’s very social with other dogs and has wonderful manners, happily sharing space and playing politely with canine friends. While he enjoys companionship, he’s past the rough-and-rowdy phase and would likely do best with a calm, respectful dog buddy. Sheriff can be a little shy with new people and is still building confidence on leash walks, but he’s already making steady progress. Around the house, he’s easygoing and low-maintenance, happy to quietly do his own thing nearby. We think Sheriff would thrive in a home with a fenced yard, a polite canine companion, and a patient, loving person who will help him continue coming out of his shell.
