She is ready for a fresh start and looking for a patient, loving home where she can continue building confidence. Meet Sue Sue is a 1.5-year-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix weighing just 11 pounds. She was found as a stray, absolutely terrified and overwhelmed by the world around her. She was so scared that she had to be safely caught using a cat trap before being brought to the shelter. When she arrived, she was also dealing with a skin condition that she is currently being treated for and healing up very nicely. The shelter environment was extremely stressful for Sue, and she spent much of her time fearful and shut down. Since moving into a foster home with multiple other dogs, she has completely blossomed into a different dog. Sue absolutely loves the companionship of the other dogs in the home and has shown how affectionate and sweet she truly is once she feels safe. She loves to snuggle with her foster mom, give kisses, and stay close to her people. Sue will likely be a little overwhelmed and nervous for the first few days after transport, but her foster has seen firsthand how quickly she settles in once she realizes she is safe and loved. With a little patience and understanding, she becomes a very loving and loyal companion. She is potty trained and crate trained and is currently working on her leash manners. Sue has a medium to lower energy level and would enjoy a calmer home environment where she can continue to build confidence at her own pace.
