About Penelope

Please contact Della @ (kittycityks@aol.com) for more information about this pet. Our adoption center is open both Saturday & Sunday every weekend! Saturday's noon-5pm & Sunday's noon-4pm. Penelope is a beautiful calico kitty who just finished raising her four baby kitties. She arrived in her foster home when her four kittens were two days old. We thought she may be feral, but she’s just very shy and scared. She was a patient, loving mama cat and allowed her foster mom to pet her while she was nursing. Penelope is a simple cat; she stays on the floor, even though she has furniture and a cat tree to climb on. She has never swatted or tried to bite anyone, including veterinarians. Penelope gives long slow love-blinks and sits quietly as a meatloaf on the floor most of the time. She loves her grey “donut” cushion. It’s her safe place, and it can go with her. She has great litter box skills, burying her waste under a mountain of litter! She keeps herself and her kittens spotlessly clean. Penelope needs a home on the quiet side with an owner who is patient, allowing her to warm up slowly. She deserves love and a soft, bed in her life. I’m sure she would be happy to be adopted with her little tuxedo boy, Chester, but doesn’t have to be. She could go alone. If you want a quiet, independent, low-maintenance floor cat who’s had a rough start in life – she’s your girl. She doesn’t ask for much but a sunny spot and a safe place to sleep. There will be nothing more rewarding than when she trusts enough to lay close to her person. Penelope was born approximately June 1, 2025, and her adoption fee is $160, or adopt two and the second is one-half price. She is spayed, up-to-date on shots and deworming, has a microchip, and tested negative for feline leukemia virus. You can visit our adoptable cats and kittens during weekend business hours at our adoption center, address and times above. During the week, all our kitties live in licensed foster homes, and while most do come to the adoption center each weekend, not every kitty attends every weekend. For more information, or to confirm whether a particular cat or kitten will be present that weekend, please email kittycityks@aol.com. Kitty City Kansas Rescue is a volunteer, non-profit organization.
