Sweet, gentle Risotto is a shy beauty with a chonky build, round face, and eye-catching fur patterns. She’s looking for a calm, patient adopter with prior cat experience to help her come out of her shell at her own pace. In foster, she keeps making daily progress, turning into a playful, goofy companion who loves rolling after wand toys and showing off her fluffy belly. Risotto can be reserved but has a special way of making you feel chosen—she’ll gaze at you with slow blinks and meaningful eye contact, and greet visitors for a gentle inspection. While nervous about direct petting, she leans into an extendible backscratcher for chin scritches and is starting to enjoy gentle hand pets. She has incredibly soft fur and genuinely relishes these moments now. Risotto loves lounging in cat beds, watching the world go by outside, and chattering at pigeons. She appreciates a treat, edging closer for Churu or Temptations. She does well with gentle, older cats if introduced properly, or is content as a solo cat getting plenty of affection. A home with adults or older kids suits her best, and she would likely be fine with calm, respectful dogs. Rescued from a group of strays behind a Bed Stuy restaurant, she is now safe, healthy, spayed, microchipped, FIV/FeLV negative, and up to date on vaccines.
