Chickie was a little bit of a hot mess when we first met her - she was severely underweight, her nails were very overgrown, she had a skin infection and an upper respiratory infection, and she was so hungry that she had been eating a lot of things that weren't actually food. It's always sad when an animal is relieved to be at the shelter, but seeing Chickie's sweet, hopeful face every day has been such a delight for everyone here! They are still working on learning the difference between pottying inside and pottying outside. Crate-trained: Working on it! They will bark or vocalize for up to 30 minutes, but do eventually settle. Leash behavior: Good! They enjoy walks and are easy to handle while on leash. Dog sociability: They like them! They enjoy the company of dog friends, but would be just as happy to be an only dog in the home. Cat sociability: They did great for their cat test at the shelter and would likely be fine with a cat in the home. Kid sociability: Good with kids of all ages! They are comfortable being around even very young children and do not jump on them, play rough with them, or get mouthy with them.
