You'd have a hard time finding a more resilient little puppy. Ash is an 8-pound Standard Schnauzer with a huge heart and an even bigger story. He is currently being fostered in Battle Creek, MI. After a very difficult start in life, including undergoing surgery to repair a liver shunt and fighting through a critical recovery, he has come out the other side thriving. He is now fully weaned off all medications and doing wonderfully. Despite everything he has been through, he remains one of the sweetest, happiest puppies you could meet. He absolutely loves people and wants to be wherever his family is. Whether he's following you around the house, curling up beside you, or greeting you with excitement when you walk through the door, he is happiest being included in everyday life. We think he would thrive (and deserves) a home where he isn't crated for long hours. He has a gentle, loving personality and gets along beautifully with kids, cats, and other dogs. He is especially loves wrestling with cats. He also loves playing with toys in a fenced in yard and chasing the chickens at his foster home. He is both crate trained and house trained (so long as you catch his cues). He would do best with a family that understands how special he is and is ready to give him the love and stability he deserves after such a challenging beginning. He deserves to be spoiled rotten.
