About Cotter

Cotter has had quite a journey. Rescued from a feral colony in New Haven back in 2019, this senior Domestic Short Hair spent several years in a home before finding himself back at the rescue through no fault of his own. The transition hasn’t been easy—Cotter has made it clear he no longer gets along with other cats. True to his nature, Cotter is still curious and craves human attention. He’ll walk over and nudge you for pets the moment you enter, and he lights up for catnip and a comfy spot to stretch out. Brushing is a favorite pastime, and he’s happiest when lounging quietly. Cotter is blind in his left eye and needs his meals portioned carefully to help with weight loss, though his health is otherwise good. Because he does best without other animals, he should be the only cat in the house. He needs a calm, adult-only home without much activity and an experienced cat owner who will respect his need for both affection and space. Cotter is sweet, gentle, and just wants a peaceful place to nap away his afternoons. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
