About Opie
Opie has been overlooked far too long and is still hoping for his person. He was born last June and brought into foster care with his two brothers at about 3 months old. While his brothers have gone on to new homes, Opie is still waiting for someone patient and kind to give him a chance. Initially, Opie was very skittish around people, but he’s made slow and steady progress—he’s not ready for pets just yet, but every day brings a little more trust. He’s content to watch the world from a cozy hiding spot and just needs a calm home with someone who understands shy cats. Opie’s a unique mix of Siamese and Domestic Short Hair, with a beautiful white flame point coat. He gets along well with other cats and is also comfortable with respectful dogs and children. He’s house trained, neutered, and up to date on vaccinations. A quiet, predictable environment will help Opie continue to come out of his shell, and adopting more than one pet can help him feel at ease. He’s currently in Tuscaloosa, AL, and local adopters are preferred due to his stress with transport, though he can be transported north after adoption. If you value trust built slowly and want to help a deserving cat discover safety, Opie is worth meeting. Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!
