About Garnet
Garnet is a curious but somewhat shy Border Terrier mix looking for a fresh start. He grew up with his mom and siblings in a backyard without much human interaction, so he’s still figuring out how to trust and thrive around people. Garnet does great with other dogs and needs a confident canine companion in his new home—you’ll see him shine with the right canine buddy. A fully fenced yard is a must, and preference will be given to adopters who have one. Garnet is house trained and is still learning the ropes of being a good canine citizen, so continuing his training is important. If you have children, the rescue asks that they be over 5 years old to make sure everyone stays safe and comfortable. As a little fun fact, Garnet is a Scorpio—known for their loyalty and depth. Questions about Garnet
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Garnet, as a Border Terrier, typically does best in a home with secure outdoor access and a family willing to integrate him into their daily routines. He benefits from environments where he can interact with both people and other dogs.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Border Terriers like Garnet enjoy a yard to romp and play, so a fully fenced space is ideal. While manageable in smaller homes if exercised enough, he’ll be happiest with some room outside.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Border Terriers usually do well with respectful, older children. For Garnet, the rescue prefers kids over 5 years old, as he may be timid in rowdy settings.
