Meet Cole! He’s sweet, loyal, and way less complicated than most “tall, dark, handsome” types. Cole is a gorgeous 2 year old Black Lab weighing in at 95 pounds. Sweet and shy, he is one of just two of our Labs remaining from the large neglect case, and he is SO deserving of a loving forever family. Cole starts out a little timid with new people. Coming from a situation of severe neglect with very little socialization or human interaction, trust does not come instantly for him. But with patience, kindness, and a few treats, Cole’s true personality begins to shine. Once he knows you, this gentle giant becomes the ultimate loyal best friend! He loves hugs, adores his people, and will happily attempt to climb right into your lap despite his size. He just might be your perfect adventure buddy. Even though Cole previously lived life outdoors, he has adjusted beautifully to being an indoor companion dog. He is housebroken, kennel trained, and very well behaved inside the home. He free roams without being destructive and quietly naps in his kennel when his foster mom is away. Cole enjoys spending time outside, so a fenced yard is a must. He walks well on leash now. He is great with dogs of all sizes and would do best in a home with older children, as toddlers with sudden loud activity may be overwhelming yet while he continues learning that the world is safe. The biggest thing Cole needs is a family with lots of love to give. He is a pretty low energy guy. Cole is neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccines, and ready for his happy ever after. His adoption donation fee is $400. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals.
