KNOWN DISLIKES: Loud noises, sudden movements. ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Shirley is the tiniest of her litter - the little runt with the biggest heart. She's the last of her four siblings still waiting for her forever home, and while her brothers and sister have moved on to their new lives, Shirley is still learning that the world can be safe, soft, and loving. When Shirley first came into foster, she was scared and unsure. She had been bitten by an older colony cat before rescue, and for such a smol kitten, that's a lot to carry. But every day she gets a little braver. She's started curling up on the bed with her foster human nearby, sneaking in for naps beside resident cats, and quietly asking for comfort in her own gentle way. Shirley has now been in foster care since January, and more than anything, she deserves a home where she can finally exhale. She will take some time to feel comfortable though and can be shy to start. At times, she can hiss but it's simply a boundary. It will pass. She's sweet, sensitive, observant, and the kind of cat who will bond deeply once she feels safe. Watching her trust grow has been really special. Beneath all that caution is a kitten who wants love very badly - she just needs someone patient enough to show her she's home.
