*If you are interested in adopting Brenna, please fill out an application at: www.loveandpuppypawsdogrescue.com/adoption-application Brenna is a friendly, sweet 2 month old lab / terrier mix pup that weighs 7 lbs. She is estimated to be around 45 lbs when she is fully grown. Brenna is social, confident and has total "girl boss" energy. She is adventurous and curious, and loves nothing more than exploring the world around her. She is always ready for fun and cuddles. She is a social butterfly and loves to met new people and other dogs. She is super affectionate, loving and absolutely adores being doted on by her humans. She really enjoys being outdoors, rolling around in the grass, and napping in the sun. Her signature move is to sprawl out on her back with her feet in the air when she's napping. She is curious and confident by nature and is always the first to investigate new toys, noises, and people. She thrives on exploring the world around her and would be the perfect companion for a family that enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and nature walks. She's the type of pup that will always be happy to join her humans on whatever outdoor adventure they want to partake in, and also is perfectly content being your snuggly companion on lazy movie days around the house. She's great with keeping herself busy with her toys and chew bones when she can't find a playmate, and she's the perfect work from home companion because she will happily hang out with you while you work and keep herself busy. She is the kind of pup that can be active, playful and curious when it’s time to have some fun, but also laid back and mellow when it’s time to relax and lounge around on the couch. Whether it’s going on walks, exploring new places, or enjoying lazy days at home, she’ll be your most loyal sidekick every step of the way. With her goofy charm, affectionate personality, and heart full of love, Brenna is sure to fill your home with laughter and endless cuddles. Brenna is medium energy, and is more on the laid back. As she gets older, her energy level will likely increase. She has a fun-loving, silly side that’s guaranteed to make you smile. Right now because she is so young, she has short bursts of puppy energy that can be quickly burned by running around in the backyard and playtime with her siblings a few times a day. As she gets older, she will need longer walks or play time in the backyard multiple times a day. She loves toys, games, and anything that keeps her engaged with her people. As she gets older, she will be perfectly content going on short leisurely walks around the neighborhood and have a few short play sessions in the backyard. If you want to go on longer hikes and playing at the beach, she will be happy to join too. She also enjoys activities that give her a bit of mental stimulation, so puzzle games and treat dispensing toys that she can work on to win the main prize, some yummy dog treats, are a necessity in her forever home. Her ideal home will have a toy box full of squeaky toys, ropes, and chew toys, and she’d be thrilled to have a BarkBox subscription to keep the fun going with new surprises every month, especially now that she is about to start teething. Briar's ideal family is one who enjoys a balance of activity and relaxation. As she grows, she would love going on hikes, walks, outdoor adventures, and fun outings, but she’ll be just as excited to come home afterward and spend the evening cuddled up on the couch beside her favorite humans. Brenna is dog, cat, and kid friendly. She is currently in a foster home with other dogs and her own siblings, and she loves other dogs. She loves other furry friends and would love to have another playful dog in her forever home. She would be perfectly fine being the only dog in the home, but she would benefit from having frequent play dates with other dogs as she grows up so she continues learning proper doggy communication skills and play etiquette. She would do best in a home with another dog that is friendly and playful as she is a puppy, and an older dog who isn't used to puppy energy and silly antics may not appreciate having a young little fur-sister around. She would also thrive as the center of attention in a home where she gets plenty of love and interaction. If she is the only dog in the home, she would benefit from having frequent play dates with doggy friends or go to doggy day care a couple times a week so she continues having positive interactions with other dogs as she grows up. Brenna would do well with kids of all ages and would love to have kids in the home that she can play and cuddle with. She may trip a young child or toddler who is learning how to walk because of her small size and tendency to walk so close to your feet, so making sure she has a safe space to hang out in while a young toddler is learning to walk is recommended. She is very playful, sweet, and loves to be cuddled and loved on, so if there are older kids in the home to play with and give her affection, she's going to be a happy girl. Because of her young age and how easily adaptable she is, she would be able to join a family that has a cat in the home. Since she is a puppy, she would do best with dog-friendly cats that have lived with dogs before as she is a puppy and may want to play with them. She is going to start teething soon, so her humans will need to keep a watchful eye on her to make sure she doesn't chew on human kid toys laying around. Brenna is currently working on kennel training, potty training and leash training. She sleeps in a playpen at night with no fuss and will be transitioning to a kennel now that she's able to go longer at night between potty breaks. When she gets older, she would really love to snuggle up in bed with her humans every night so she can get in as many cuddles as possible though. She loves to go on outings in her doggy stroller and also likes to be carried in a doggy pouch though, so while she is still little, she can be taken on fun outings until she masters leash training. She will need additional practice to perfect her leash walking skills in her forever home. She is doing well with potty pad training and will use a potty pad if she needs to go. She has started transitioning to going potty outside, but does not know how to alert her foster mom yet. It is recommended to use a doggy door bell by the back door to help her learn how to notify you when she needs to go outside. She does need a consistent schedule and be taken out every few hours, so she will need someone who either works from home or that can come home on lunch breaks to let her out consistently. Brenna's ideal home would be one where she can be included in her family’s daily life and get plenty of love, exercise, and attention. She would love to live in a home with a fenced yard to run and play in, but she’d also be perfectly content in an apartment, condo, or townhouse as long as she gets regular walks and playtime. She would thrive in a home with another friendly dog and some kids to cuddle and play with. She's also the type of dog that can be completely happy being the "only child" and getting all her humans' love and affection to herself too. No public dog parks for this sweet girl because who wants to risk your pup catching a disease or being bullied on by other random dogs anyways. She would love to have fun adventures at Sniff Spots for playtime and exercise when she gets older if she does live in an apartment, condo, or townhouse without a private fenced-in yard. She would love if her human works from home or works a hybrid schedule, and even would love to go to work with you if you go to a dog-friendly office. If you work out of the home and she is the only dog, she would benefit from going to doggy day care a few days a week so she can continue socializing with other dogs as she gets older. With her adaptable, happy nature, Brenna would be a wonderful fit for a variety of families. Whether you’re looking for a playful pup to join in on your adventures, or a laid-back companion to keep you company at home, Brenna is happy to join you on whatever li Brenna is in a foster home in Central Texas.
