Irene is a petite, affectionate little girl who is clearly overwhelmed by shelter life, but once she’s outside you realize very quickly she’s not aggressive, just anxious and trying her best. She LOVES belly rubs and has an adorable habit of flopping onto her back when it’s time to leash up. She gets the zoomies, gives kisses freely, loves to snuggle, and has a goofy little personality that makes people fall in love with her fast. Once she settles in, she’s sweet, affectionate, and eager to connect with people. Irene also seems very interested in other dogs and has had several positive interactions through the fence with playful pups. Volunteers consistently describe her as social, playful, and curious. She really feels like a dog who would do well quickly in a home. Right now she’s just a nervous little nugget trying to survive a stressful shelter environment.
