Meet Dewey Dewey is ready to turn the page on his past and start the next chapter of his life with a family to call his own. Dewey came to us after being found abandoned at a local golf course alongside two other hounds. After spending over a week in foster care while every effort was made to locate an owner, Dewey made his way to our shelter where he’s now patiently waiting for the loving forever home he deserves. Born around 12/21/2022, Dewey is a handsome hound with lots of personality and a nose that never quits! Like most hounds, he loves to explore, sniff, and investigate every little thing around him. He can be vocal at times—true to his breed—but underneath that classic hound bark is an incredibly sweet and affectionate boy who enjoys attention, companionship, and being close to his people. Dewey is looking for a patient and understanding home that appreciates hound breeds and all of their lovable quirks. He’s still working on his manners and will thrive with continued training, structure, and positive reinforcement.
