Meet Helga! Boy, oh boy - if you want someone to love, and you want to BE loved, Helga is the cat for you! Helga was recently rescued from the streets. Because of her docile temperament, we believe she was abandoned by her pet parent and thrown out on the street. Helga is just an absolute sweetheart. She LOVES being pet and will do little acrobatics when you pet her! - flips and roll-overs signify she loves your attention and that she loves YOU (just take a look at all the featured videos that show just how loving she really is!). She likes to bunny kick her toys and follow her hooman around. She's also a hearty eater, even-tempered, and her favorite pastime is just being near the hoomans she loves. Helga should live in a single-cat household. Will you be the one to finally give Helga the life she's always deserved? ******************************* MEDICAL NOTES Helga was diagnosed with diabetes in February 2026. However, with diligent monitoring and treatment from her foster, Helga is officially IN REMISSION and is currently not receiving insulin therapy for diabetes. Diabetic remission occurs when a cat maintains a normal glucose level for more than four weeks without insulin injections or oral glucose regulating medications. Not all cats go into remission, but those that do may stay that way for months or years. Diabetic relapse is possible, but staying in remission long-term is also possible if a cat remains generally healthy and maintains an optimal body condition score while eating a low-carbohydrate diet (Helga's current diet is 2, 3oz can of Fancy Feast pate per day). And the ball of LOVE that she is, according to her foster who has been treating her, more than makes up for her special needs status. Apply to adopt HELGA at bit.ly/btcradopt Or go through our website http://bronxtails.org All Bronx Tails cats are spayed/neutered (when age appropriate), vaccinated, tested for Feline AIDS and Feline Leukemia and are litterbox reliable and loving toward people. We require adopters to fill out an application, have basic references checked, allow a home visit and video tour (to ensure conditions are safe and reasonable), and pay an adoption fee. We allow all adopters an up-to-2-week-long tryout period to determine if the cat(s) is a good match for them. If not, we will retrieve the cat(s) and return the adoption fee in full. We will also help with tips and methods for introducing the cat(s) to other pets, if needed.
