Barlena (ACCT-A-248395) is a fun, playful puppy who came to ACCT after being found tied to a fence with 2 other dogs. Estimated at about 10 months old, she's ready for a loving, energetic home that will help her grow into the best dog she can be! As a puppy, Barlena is predictably jumpy and high energy, so she'll do best in a home with patience and structure that can guide her through her youthful antics. She absolutely loves toys and will happily throw them around for herself or bring them to you, and she takes treats nicely! She was so wiggly and playful, easy to walk, and LOVED toys. She threw them around for herself and bounced all over the yard. She came over for pets and snuggles, asked for belly rubs, and is such a sweet girl. She's a little jumpy, but can be deterred by turning your back or tossing a toy. Behavior eval 5/9/2026: Kennel Presentation: Jumpy, loose, and wiggly in her kennel, trying to push out and jumping on the door. Leash Skills: Took a few tries to leash her due to jumping on the door. Once secured, she walked through iso nicely with moderate pulling. Sociability: Extremely playful and social! She got jumpy when excited and was able to be deterred by turning your back. She took treats very nicely, and when I crouched down to her level, she came over and asked for attention. When I stopped petting her, she licked me gently to ask for more attention. Gave me her belly for pets and was extremely sweet. Play: LOVED toys. She moved from toy to toy, throwing them for herself and bringing them back to me to throw them for her. Allowed me to touch/take toys to play tug, both with and without trading. Per volunteer 4/30: Barlena was curled up on her bed when I approached. Once leashed she trembled so much that the leash vibrated. Her tail was tucked. Once outside I waited for Barlena to gain the confidence to go for a walk. First we sat together. The second I sat down she hopped on my lap. Once Barlena was ready we went for a run in the cemetery.
