Meet Chop, a young, energetic male who is ready to find his forever home! Found as a stray in February, he was adopted and returned after a month in his home. Chop is full of curiosity and loves staying active-he enjoys multiple daily walks, exploring the outdoors, and playing fetch with his favorite durable toys. He knows basic commands like sit, down, lay down, stay, and drop it, and his playful, curious personality shines when he's given space to explore. Chop is looking for an adopter who is experienced and ready to help guide him as he continues to grow and learn. Because he has a strong prey drive, a home without cats would be ideal. This spirited and "cute" boy will thrive with a family that can provide structure, consistent attention, and plenty of fun-could that family be yours? Scratches behind the ears will get his back leg kicking. He comes out of the kennel with no issues. He doesn't pull when walking on a leash. He's very interested in other dogs he's seen through the fence. He seems like he's the kind of dog that's always ready to go exploring on a new adventure. Per staff 3/17/26: Kennel Presentation: was sitting in the corner when i approached his kennel with wide eyes and ears forward. Leash Skills: when i opened the kennel he leaned further back, i was able to leash with a treat lure. He came right out of the kennel once the leash was on. Minimally pulled on the leash. Sociability: asocial. Moved away when i attempted to pet him. His tail was down, wide eyes and ears to the side. Nose to the ground while in the pen. Play: n/a Dog Interaction: met Dutch. Tail went up and curled when Dutch came into the yard. Ears forested and pulled towards him. Able to sniff at a distance as Dutch was actively avoiding interacting with him. Return to Kennel: hesitated for a second before going back in the kennel then went in. Was able to remove the leash with my hand. Color Level: Exp gold Per owner 3/16/26: Chop is a high-energy, young male dog who was recently surrendered due to his reactivity and the owner's busy schedule. He is fully housebroken, crate-trained (though he may whine or bark while in it), and loves being active with multiple daily walks, playing fetch, and exploring outdoors. Chop knows basic commands like sit, down, lay down, stay, and drop it, and enjoys durable toys like balls and bones. He does have behavioral needs that require an experienced home: he can become overstimulated, has separation anxiety, mouthy/play-biting tendencies, pulls strongly on the leash, and can mark indoors. Chop is reactive toward other dogs and strangers, is jumpy, and has a prey drive. He thrives with children, but has not interacted with cats. A home with a yard and owners who can provide structure, consistent training, and plenty of exercise would be ideal for this energetic and "cute" pup.
