She’s happiest curled up in your lap or following you from room to room, soaking up all the attention she can get. She’s friendly with friends and neighbors and has a gentle, loving personality. Personality & Social Behavior Bethany gets along well with other dogs overall and enjoys being around them. She will lay with them and coexist peacefully most of the time. However, she is still learning that she doesn’t have to compete for resources. She can be a little protective over toys and food and may growl to let other dogs know they’re “hers.” She has never shown intent to bite, just to communicate and set boundaries. Because of this, Bethany may do best as an only dog or in a home that understands how to manage and continue working through mild resource guarding with structure and consistency. Home Behavior Bethany has shown some signs of separation anxiety when crated and left while others leave the room, but she settles after a few minutes. She does well when left out with other dogs during the day and is continuing to build confidence. We are still working on house training. She is using potty pads and will also go outside, but she’ll need a family willing to continue helping her learn a consistent routine. She just needs reassurance and consistency to understand that she’ll never have to compete again. Bethany needs a patient home with no children under the age of 10. She is incredibly sweet, loyal, and loving—and once she feels safe, she will be the most devoted little companion.
