“Take me out the ballgame…” Hey, baseball fans! It’s that time of year again! I’m a cute brown tabby kitten called Scooter. Cincinnati Reds fans will remember a utility player named Scooter Gennett who once hit four homers in one game. He said, "Baseball is an amazing game. You can go from 0-for-19 to four home runs in a game. It's pretty wild." My story is a bit like that. I’m just a kitten, but I wasn’t playing baseball. I found myself alone on along County Road 10 in Zumbrota. Someone rescued me, and I wound up at Paws and Claws. I was treated for upper respiratory and eye infections, and part of my tail had to be amputated due to a previous injury. Now I am doing much better! Once I feel comfortable with someone, I am very friendly. I love being petted. And guess what! I am active and playful. So – play ball! Or whatever toy is handy! I especially love spring toys, which I will carry and bat around the room. Maybe my 0-19 days are behind me. I’m hoping to make the roster on your team as your favorite player, Scooter.
