No electronic/invisible fences, or e-collars will be allowed as we do not feel these would set him up for success. *COAT TYPE: soft, wavy, low shedding coat. His fosters shaved his coat down upon intake as it was matted. You should be prepared to brush him often and have him groomed regularly (every 8-10 weeks) with an estimated cost of $100/groom. *ENERGY LEVEL: Eddy enjoys activities such as walking and playing with other dogs. He is pretty calm and laidback the majority of the time. He is very sweet and loves to nudge you with his nose and give kisses. He enjoys laying down beside his foster dog siblings as well as cuddling up in his own dog bed. *DOGS: Eddy gets along well with all his foster dog siblings in his foster home. He does well playing with dogs from 20 - 105 lbs. We think he would do well with a another dog playmate or just a human companion. He likes to hump the other dogs in his foster homes; this behavior is improving as he acclimates. He does bark when he plays - he likes to talk! *CATS: Unknown; he has had no exposure to cats. *KIDS: Eddy has had no exposure to kids in his foster home. His prior owner said he was fine with kids but he does jump up on people to say hi so could easily knock a small human down. *CAR: Loves it! Eddy does great in the car and loves to go for rides. He rides like a champ and loves to lay down and relax. *CRATE: Eddy has not needed to be crated while in his foster home. He sleeps comfortably in the bedroom on a dog bed. *HOUSE TRAINED: Yes fully house-trained! *LEASH: Eddy walks really well on a leash. *AT THE VET: Eddy did great at the vet! WITH GROOMING: Eddy was a delight to groom and very calm. Eddy is a 6-year-old male Goldendoodle who weighs 96 lbs. He could stand to lose 5-10 lbs. He came into IDOG as a rescue due to no fault of his own; his owner passed away. He is a handsome boy with the sweetest eyes and a heart full of love! Here is what Eddy’s foster family has to say about him: Eddy is sweet, affectionate, and always waiting to sit and shake when you enter the room. He loves to be outdoors enjoying the sunshine as well as taking a break in the A/C to catch a good snooze or head scratch when it’s time to come inside. Eddy will thrive with a family who will include him in their daily adventures. He loves to be with his people and his foster dog siblings. Eddy is a very loving dog. He enjoys playing with his foster dog siblings as well as relaxing and settling down with everyone when it’s time He's excitable around new people and dogs. He barks and jumps on people to say hi, but is typically submissive. He wants to play. He knows how to sit and shake paws. He understands to be still when being brushed (which he likes). Eddy is very people-oriented, and will roll onto his back for belly scratches when people approach. His dream home is: -a home where his people include him in activities. He loves being brushed and belly rubs. -fenced yard for sniffing sessions. -family committed to regular exercise and mental stimulation. -playmate to romp around with in the yard or an active human that takes him on walks. With the right match, he’s going to thrive. Eddy is neutered, microchipped, and current on core vaccines. He has a large lipoma on his side and the vet said he doesn't need to get it removed as it is not interfering with his movements. His fecal and heartworm tests were negative and he is on heartworm/flea/tick preventives. ADOPTION FEE: $550 adoption fee ADOPTION FEE EXPLANATION: Puppies and highly adoptable dogs have a higher adoption fee to help IDOG cover the vetting and expenses of the other dogs in IDOG whose adoption fees do not cover their expenses. Our expenses are very high these days due to increased vetting expenses, board and train costs, medical/health issues and surgery that is needed for some of our dogs. IDOG relies heavily on donations to bridge the gap between our adoption fees and our expenses. Unfortunately, donations are down across the board for all rescues.
