Tux is one of those gentle, sensitive cats who prefers to take in the world quietly before deciding it is safe to join in. He can be shy in new situations and tends to hide at first when unfamiliar people arrive, but the people who know him best describe a sweet boy who loves affection, enjoys sleeping beside his favorite humans, and thrives once he feels comfortable. He has spent his whole life indoors and seems happiest when he has cozy places to retreat to, toys to chase, and companionship nearby. Although shelter transitions have understandably been stressful for him, Tux has continued to allow handling and care from staff without issue. He is described as playful with other cats, gentle with children, and overall a very loving cat beneath that cautious exterior. Tux feels like the kind of cat who may not immediately demand attention from across the room, but once he settles in, he becomes the quiet little shadow curled up beside you at bedtime and the soft voice reminding you breakfast should probably happen now.
