About Spanky

Spanky – A Loyal Little Gentleman Looking for a Soft Place to Land At 10 years old, Spanky is proof that the best things in life come in small packages. This adorable Toy Fox Terrier spent his entire life with one beloved owner, and after they passed away, Spanky found himself searching for a new family to love. While that is a big change for any dog, Spanky has settled in with grace and is ready to share his heart with someone special. Spanky is a spry little senior who still enjoys exploring the world with his nose to the ground. He loves sniffing around the yard, taking short walks, and trotting along nicely on leash. He can be a bit chatty when he has something to say, but he is just as happy curling up and relaxing with his people. His favorite thing in the world? Being held and spending time close to the humans he loves. Toys do not interest him much—Spanky would far rather be in your arms or nestled beside you on the couch. Spanky is looking for a calm, easygoing home where he can enjoy the simple pleasures in life: a cozy bed, gentle walks, and plenty of affection. We do not yet know how he feels about other dogs or cats, but we do know that he has a lot of love left to give. If you are looking for a devoted companion with a big heart and a gentle soul, Spanky may be the perfect little sidekick for you. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you would like to meet Spanky, please submit an application for him on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. He is neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $275, which helps cover the cost of the medical care he has received. **Please note that the breed listed for each of our dogs is a rough estimate unless DNA results are provided in their Bio. All strays have rough estimates of their age based on the condition of their teeth. Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.
