About The Orange One

Meet The Orange One! The Orange One is a sweet, affectionate boy with a huge heart and a personality that fills the room. He’s the kind of cat who doesn’t just like people—he adores them. His previous owner described him as "aggressively friendly," meaning he loves being with his person and is happiest when he can follow you around, cuddle up, or simply be near his family. This charming guy had a tough start as the runt of his litter and was bottle-fed, which may explain his adorable habit of chewing on cardboard and other textures to self-soothe. He’s not trying to eat things—just comforting himself. Providing cardboard boxes or safe chewable items makes him feel secure and happy. The Orange One is wonderfully sweet, friendly, and maybe not the most sophisticated thinker—but that’s part of his charm. He brings warmth and joy to every room he enters. A few things to know: He loves people and thrives on companionship. He may gently chew on soft or textured items to self-soothe—cardboard boxes are perfect for him! He needs his food intake managed and does best on a scheduled feeding routine to help maintain a healthy weight. He’s been well cared for, but his previous owner is moving overseas and can’t bring him due to the long flight, quarantine requirements, and the stress it would cause him. If you’re looking for a lovable, loyal, people-oriented cat who just wants to be your best friend, The Orange One may be the perfect match for you. He’s ready to bring endless sweetness—and a little silliness—into his new home. Be sure to check the "shelter information" box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Michael R. Frey Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours!
