Jasmine Crockett was at the trailer park for a long time before she was rescued. Her prior owner, who had many, many cats, kept them outside and many were not in great shape. We were able to convince him to let us spay/neuter them, but he continued to acquire cats that were being given away for free on social media. He was eventually evicted and he left most of the cats behind, Jasmine being one of them. One of the residents there agreed to feed her and let us place a shelter on her porch, but whenever we stopped by to check on her, there would be people food in her bowl (like blocks of cheese). We had given her cat food, so there was no reason for her not to feed her. Jasmine would occasionally show up at the feeding station looking for food. The resident also said that she did not allow Jasmine in her trailer because she was allergic to cats. One day, she brought Jasmine over to the feeding station saying that she needed veterinary help, so we took Jasmine back to our clinic and provided her veterinary care. She had lots of scratches around her throat and a couple of puncture wounds, one which had abscessed. We cleaned it and gave her an antibiotic injection. At that point, we decided she should stay in our adoption program. It was too cold outside, and apparently, she was not cared for, and she is a nice girl. Since she's been at our office, she seems to get along fine with most of the cats. She stays to herself most of the time, but at feeding time she is right and center. She enjoys hanging out on her perch and looking out the window at the catio. She's a small girl weighing about 8 1/2 pounds, and really cute.
