About Tonto

This pup will be available to meet starting on 5/23 This gorgeous boy arrived as an unclaimed stray, but he's more than ready to leave that chapter behind and start the new and improved life he truly deserves. Tonto is the definition of a respectful gentleman. He has a nice medium energy level where he enjoys a little playtime and socializing with other dogs, but overall he's mostly a laid back, easygoing boy who just enjoys being near his people. He would absolutely love a home with another dog friend or even a multi dog household where he can feel included and part of the pack. This handsome boy is treat motivated, knows basic commands, walks well on leash, and does wonderfully in his kennel. He has the kind of calm, polite personality that makes him easy to love and easy to have around. Tonto isn't looking to cause chaos... unless it's causing people to stop and admire how ridiculously good looking he is. With his fluffy coat, soulful eyes, and charming personality, Tonto is any Border Collie lover's dream companion. He would love a home with a yard where he can stretch his legs, enjoy the sunshine, and hang out with his dog friends before heading inside for cozy evenings with his family. They were rescued from a shelter in New Mexico. Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
