BMO and his bonded sister, Princess Bubblegum, were born in our care... a traumatic and scary start to their little lives. Their mom, Fiona, had been hit by a car while heavily pregnant with them. Her front leg was broken in 3 places and needed to be amputated. And her poor abdomen was herniated and her uterus was partially inside the hernia. There would be no way for her to safely deliver on her own. So the babies were born via c-section, 1-2 weeks premature - 6 were delivered but just these 2 survived. Then Fiona had surgery to repair her abdomen and amputate her leg. She had so many surgeries, and after recovering for a few days, her mama instincts kicked in and she took over care for the babies, who had been bottle fed up until she was feeling well enough. BMO has been raised in the care of people, handled, snuggled and kissed everyday... leading to a very sweet, tolerant kitten. But don't be fooled! This goofy boy has a big personality. In classic orange fashion, he gets into mischief and hijinks, operating on that single braincell capacity. He loves his sister... wherever Bubblegum goes, BMO is quick to follow. She calls the shots and is the best playmate to her brother. But when the playtime turns to naptime, he loves to find a cozy spot to curl up: a fluffy bed, window perch, sister... or his person's lap. He is round and fluffy and feels so good to snuggle with.
