About Gertie

Meet Gertie! Gertie is a 10 year-old, 13-pound female small-breed mix from NYC. She presented to the Manhattan ACC as a stray — but it's unlikely she spent much time on the streets fending for herself! She has the most adorable fluffy ears and underbite. While her ancestry is a mystery to us - perhaps a leggy Pekingese mix or a leggy Tibetan spaniel? Either way - she's 100% precious! Don't mind her goofy tufts, she recently had a bad haircut. We anticipate her to have long, lucious locks once they grow back. Gertie is a fairly low key senior. who likes to squeeze in a few naps around her daily walks though the ‘hood collecting her cheese & treat tax. She has quickly become a neighborhood favorite batting her gorgeous white eye lashes at everyone she meets. She does well left home alone while her foster mom is at work. She has not found a pile of pillows she did not like. She is very expressive and vocalizes her excitement! She isn't a barker but a “whiner”. You will never be in doubt of how she feels. She is house-trained (recently spayed) and is very excited when she sees the leash come out for her walks. She also loves chasing balls though squeaky toys remain an enigma to her. Apply to adopt Gertie today! Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, bordetella, and Lepto. Spayed/neutered and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
