Meet Lia The Ultimate Companion Lia is a 5-year-old, 27-pound Shepherd mix who journeyed all the way from Mexico to find her person. If you are looking for a "Velcro dog" who bonds deeply, Lia is your girl. Her absolute favorite thing in the world is being right next to you—whether she's snuggling, taking a nap right on top of you, or soaking up every ounce of attention you can give. Once she bonds with you, you are in for life, and she will make you feel like the most loved person on the planet. Silly, Smart, & City-Savvy Don't let her gentle nature fool you—Lia has a wonderfully playful side! She loves her toys, running at the park, and gets the absolute silliest zoomies. She is also incredibly smart and eager to please. She is already fully house-trained (both outdoors and on pee pads), has mastered the "sit" command, and is a quick learner with her obedience training. Plus, she's a brave city girl; she recently tackled the subway and has adjusted beautifully to the loud noises of City living! Her Perfect Environment While Lia is a total joy, she is a little wary of strangers at first. She is blooming more and more every day, and she appreciates people who respect her boundaries and let her open up at her own pace. Because of this, she would thrive best in a home with a calmer energy. Home Alone: She does great alone for a few hours with free roam of the house, settling quickly without being destructive. Other Pets: She would be thrilled to be your one-and-only solo queen, but she could also do well with another dog to help show her the ropes. Kids: She would do wonderfully with teenagers who understand how to give her space when she needs it. Lia has waited long enough, and she has so much love left to give. Are you the patient, loving soul who is ready to watch this beautiful girl truly blossom? __ Vaccinated for Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. Neutered and microchipped. Tested for vector-borne illnesses. Current on flea, tick, and heart worm prevention. To apply to adopt Lia, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for a foster application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies.
