About Doodlebob

Doodlebob ACCT-A-248633 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Doodlebob must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER, FOSTER, or ADOPTER by WEDNESDAY, MAY 20TH at 10AM. Should Doodlebob's medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Doodlebob came into ACCT Philly as a stray on April 24th and has been charming everyone around him ever since. He arrived calm and friendly, walking up to staff with a loose, wiggly body and soft eyes - a great first impression that he's only continued to live up to. He's a gentle, affectionate guy who loves being pet, plays well with tennis balls, and knows how to sit. He takes treats nicely, walks well on leash, and is easy to handle from start to finish. Volunteers have described him as a "real gem" and a "good, goofy dog." He has had good fence meets with other dogs and was loose and tolerant when meeting another dog on leash. Doodlebob is the kind of dog who just wants to be near people and have a good time - and he's more than ready for a home to call his own. Due to his length of stay, Doodlebob is urgently seeking placement with a rescue partner, foster, or adopter. Good boy. Very affectionate. Will sit for treats. Per staff 5/13: Medium energy. Good, goofy dog. Per volunteer 5/13: We took Doodlebob out and he was easy to leash, walk, and return to kennel. He loved playing with the ball, loved being pet! Very good boy! Per volunteer 5/12: Low-medium energy. Such a good boy! Loved pets and treats. Knows sit. Took treats gently. Likes to chew on toys. Per volunteer 5/11: Low-medium energy. Loved to play. Well behaved. Took treats well. All around good boy. Per volunteer 5/10: Low-medium energy. Loved to play with tennis balls. Walks well on leash. Easy to handle. Per volunteer 5/8: Doodlebob was so excited to come out of his kennel! He was easy to leash. He knows sit & takes treats nice and gently! He really enjoyed playing with the tennis ball in the play yard. He had no interest with the rope toy. Little interest in a monkey stuffie. Good fence meet with Guava. Loved to be pet and shown affection! Very sweet pup. Per volunteer 5/5: Low energy. Good dog meet through fence. Gentle, sweet boy. Sat ahead of command and took treats very nicely. Interested in surroundings but calm. Per volunteer 4/30: Low energy. So good and calm. Great on leash. Knows sit. Per volunteer 4/29: What a sweet guy! He got neutered earlier today, so he was moving a little slow, but he was incredibly gentle and tolerant. He let a staff member and me change his cone for a clean one, and while he started off a little snatchy with treats (understandably, given that he's a bit thin), he took them more gently as he got comfortable. He's pretty timid, but that may have been largely due to hitting the cone on things. A real gem to have out! Per staff 4/28: Met Guava. Loose wiggly body, mid level tail wags. Sniffed face to face then moved away. Per staff 4/28: Slight issues getting out of kennel (cone of shame). Low-medium energy. Walks great on leash. Good meet with Guava. Per volunteer 4/27: Kennel Presentation: Standing at the front of his kennel calmly with soft eyes and a relaxed body. Leash Skills: Allowed me to leash him easily and patiently (despite me struggling with it due to his cone). Walked easily through the kennels, a bit hesitant with no pulling. Sociability: Extremely tolerant in the yard, allowing a staff member and me to remove his cone and replace it with a clean one, as well as allowing the staff member to feel along his back and legs. Slightly snatchy with treats, which improved and got gentler throughout our time in the yard. He solicited attention, laying his head in our laps gently for pets. He was nervous about doorways (he kept hitting his cone on walls/doors), eventually coming along when I knelt and coaxed with a baby voice (no treats needed). Play: No interest in toys (may not have been able to see them/pick them up due to the cone). Return to Kennel: Returned to kennel easily. Color Level: Gold Per volunteer 4/26: Medium energy. Focused on his environment, sniffing, listening, watching other dogs and people. Relaxed after a while and took treats. Knows sit. Per staff 4/24: Very friendly, allowed leash and came up to each person with a loose tail wag and ears back with eyes squinting. Allowed pets, does pull on leash. - Due to being significantly overcapacity with animals and higher than usual intake, extensions are unlikely to be granted.
