Oliver and Olivia’s story is one that has touched every single person here at Purrfect Haven Cat Rescue and TNR. ❤️ We received a call from a woman whose two cats had both delivered litters of kittens, and she was overwhelmed and unable to care for them. One of those mamas was gorgeous long-haired Obsidian, who arrived to us heartbreakingly thin, carrying the weight of trying to keep herself and her five babies alive. Thankfully, as the kittens grew, most of them started eating on their own just in time… because mama Obsidian’s body simply couldn’t keep up anymore. Her little body needed to focus on surviving. But tiny Oliver wasn’t ready. While his siblings were learning to eat like big kids, little Oliver still depended completely on milk. To save him, Marissa learned how to tube feed and between her and an amazing volunteer Harriet Feick— they cared for this sweet boy every two hours around the clock to make sure he stayed alive. And they did exactly that. ❤️ Slowly, Oliver began to grow stronger. He started playing, exploring, and becoming just like his brothers and his sweet sister Olivia. And Olivia… she became his protector from the very beginning. The only girl among four roughhousing brothers, Olivia somehow always knew Oliver needed extra love and extra care. If Oliver was curled up on the heating pad, Olivia was wrapped tightly around him keeping him warm. If his brothers got too wild and wanted Oliver up playing before he was ready, Olivia made sure they backed off. She watched over him constantly, and to this day, Oliver absolutely adores his sister. Now all of their siblings have gone off to wonderful forever homes. Mama Obsidian has too. But we waited to post Oliver and Olivia because we knew in our hearts they deserved something special. These two belong together. They spend their days wrestling, cuddling, grooming each other, chasing toys, and falling asleep wrapped around one another. They are the cuddliest, loudest purring little pair you could ever imagine, and every single person who meets them falls completely in love. We are searching for a very special forever home willing to open their heart to both Oliver and Olivia — so they can continue growing up side by side, just the way they were meant to.
