The transport date is still to be determined and will depend on how many dogs receive fosters or adopters. A committed home is required for Cooper to make the trip, and we’re hopeful the right person is out there for him. Meet Cooper Cooper is a little Beagle mix with a big heart. This sweet 7-year-old boy is ready for a fresh start and a loving home of his own. Cooper came to the shelter after getting a little too adventurous and finding himself lost one too many times. His previous owners ultimately surrendered him, and now he is looking forward to beginning his next chapter with a family who will love him forever. His previous owners shared that Cooper is great with other dogs, but is intimidated by cats. He arrived underweight and with some non-contagious skin issues, but with a little TLC, he is already on the path to feeling much better. Cooper is as easygoing as they come. He is great on leash, easy to handle, and already knows how to sit on command. He takes treats gently from your hand and greets everyone with sweet tail-wagging enthusiasm. While he enjoys affection and attention, he is also perfectly content doing his own thing and relaxing nearby. With a low to medium energy level, Cooper would fit beautifully into a calm and relaxed home. He is not especially interested in toys, but more than makes up for it with his gentle companionship and steady presence. Because of Cooper’s history of being a little too adventurous and getting lost, we recommend his future adopter have a securely fenced yard to help keep him safe. If you are looking for a sweet, mellow dog with a loving personality, Cooper could be your perfect match.
