Sometimes a dog's name just tells you everything you need to know. When our Foster Manager was at animal control picking up cats, she spotted a sweet dog quietly sitting in his kennel. After spending a little time with him, she knew she couldn't leave without making a plan to come back for him. The moment his stray hold was up, we were there to bring him to safety. Since it was already late when he was picked up, he headed straight to his foster home for his first night of freedom. He didn't even have a name yet-but after just one night, it was obvious what it had to be. Good Boy. Because that is exactly what he is. From the moment he walked into the home, he greeted the kids, dogs, and even cats with happy tail wags and a gentle, sweet demeanor. He happily soaked up attention, cuddled with the kids, and made himself right at home. While he had a little trouble settling in that first night (understandably-everything was brand new), once he relaxed, he curled up and slept beside his foster mom. Good Boy arrived a little rough around the edges-matted and underweight-but thanks to our amazing groomers, he is already looking like a whole new dog. We are continuing to help him gain healthy weight and become the best version of himself. He is gentle, loving, and quickly becoming a staff favorite. He already knows "sit," is mostly housebroken, and just needs a family willing to stay consistent as he continues adjusting to home life. Some dogs come with complicated stories.
