Nectar is as sweet as his name suggests and somehow always looks like he just heard the best joke of his life. This 1.5-year-old Retriever mix is 16 pounds of pure happiness, complete with a giant smile that seems permanently attached to his face. He came into rescue with his whole little crew—Nifty, Niblet, Novella, and Niche—which sounds less like a dog group and more like an indie band that definitely plays at local coffee shops. Through it all, Nectar has remained the cheerful social butterfly of the bunch, winning people over with his sunny personality and “best day ever” outlook on life. This guy loves everyone. New people? Amazing. Existing near snacks? Incredible. Snuggling up beside someone for affection and attention? Truly living his best life. Nectar approaches the world with such genuine joy that it’s almost impossible not to smile right back at him. And that smile deserves its own paragraph, honestly. Nectar grins like it’s his full-time job. Whether he’s getting cuddles, waiting for treats, or just trotting around being adorable, he somehow always looks delighted to be included. It’s giving “golden retriever trapped in a smaller body,” and we fully support it. Nectar also has a very balanced lifestyle philosophy: equal parts snacks and snuggles. He’s affectionate without being clingy, social without being overwhelming, and has mastered the art of making himself everyone’s favorite within approximately five minutes. Suddenly you expect everyone to greet you with the same level of enthusiasm and joy, and frankly, most humans just can’t compete. Nectar is already neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and tested negative on his 4DX for heartworm and tick-borne disease, so he’s fully ready to sweeten up his forever home.
