Freida is a 6-year-old tortoiseshell girl who is friendly, talkative and has a great purr. She originally lived in Nevada with her owner in a senior living facility alongside another cat she was very bonded to. After her owner sadly passed away, Freida moved with us to Oregon where we’ve been helping her adjust and continue losing weight in a healthy way. She is currently around 15 pounds and has already made good progress. Freida is incredibly affectionate once she’s comfortable. One of her favorite things is shoving her whole face into your hand for pets, and she’ll reward you with loud purrs and lots of conversation — she’s a very talkative cat who likes being involved in whatever you’re doing. She also has a funny habit of lounging inside kitchen cabinets and trying to open them herself. She seems to favor her right paw and struggles a bit using her left, but that has never stopped her from trying. She would likely do best in a calm, patient home that understands she has been through a lot of change in the last few years. Freida has shown that she can coexist with other cats in the right environment, especially after previously living closely with another female cat, but slow introductions are important. She is an indoor-only cat and really enjoys having cozy places to nap and people nearby to love on. This decision has been very difficult because Freida truly is a sweet and special cat. We just want to find her a home where she can feel safe, comfortable, and loved for the rest of her life. Freida should be indoors only and her rehoming fee is $140. She lives in Salem with her adopted family.
