About Arph Rojo

IF THIS LISTING IS STILL UP, the pet is still available for adoption! ***Please read this first, as it answers the majority of questions we receive*** E-mails or contact forms that are submitted prior to completing an adoption application will not be answered. Applications are located at: www.aussierescue.org If you are interested in one of our dogs but live outside of Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, or Colorado, please select Texas as your state (but keep all other info the same) when completing your app so it can be routed to us for consideration. Once we receive your application, we will contact you. Our organization requires prospective adopters to complete a screening process prior to meeting with dogs in our program. This process includes: - Completion of Adoption Application - Veterinarian Check - Reference Checks (non-relatives) - Home Visit Our ultimate goal is to screen and counsel potential homes to the best of our ability in an effort to find the most perfect match and fit for their lifestyle. Please keep in mind that color and appearance of the available dog will have no bearing on adoption placement decisions. ***$300 Adoption Fee*** -------------------------------- ABOUT ROJO: Rep: Laura Kempf / aussie330@aol.com Rojo is located in Lubbock, TX and it is required that you travel there to meet him in person within 10 days of application approval if you want to adopt (exceptions can be made for out-of-state applicants). We do need the entire party to be involved when meeting available dogs, including every family member and dog(s) that currently live in your home. This stunning boy is named Rojo, and he’s looking for a soft place to land. Rojo’s life before he came to ARPH is unknown. He was picked up as a stray in Oklahoma by animal control before they transferred him to a high-volume partner here in North Texas. It was here that a kind volunteer felt a soft spot for him and pulled him out of the shelter, taking care of him until he could be handed over to us. Rojo is approximately 1.5 years old, 40lbs, house-trained, crate-trained, and fully vetted. He is a gentler fellow that needs consistency and stability. When he first arrived in foster care, he was a bit skittish and shy… even too shy to eat. However, once he knew the routine and felt safe, he warmed up and became really happy and content. Rojo is fabulous with all other dogs, and would greatly benefit from another dog in the home that can help show him the ropes. He has done well in many different settings, including the vet, a pet bar, and a doggy daycare. He is a calmer, very quiet boy that really loves to stay near his people. While we have never seen him around young children, we figure that they might be a little too much for him. However, he is perfectly fine with cats! Rojo is very unassuming, and very much wants to please. Once he opens up, he has a very cute and endearing personality. He loves to give kisses and really likes it when you tell him what a good boy he is. When re-assured, he even smiles! He is great with baths and grooming, and loves to roll around on the towel. Overall, Rojo would do really well with a person or couple that are seeking calm companionship and perhaps a friend for their current dog. With a little time and experience under his belt, Rojo will flourish.
