Unbelievable and heartbreaking incidents involving animals happen far too often. A man arrived at the AALOC shelter asking us to take his cat. Our staff gently explained that we are already beyond capacity and unable to safely intake additional animals at this time. In response, the man opened the carrier, released the cat outside our building, and drove away. Terrified and confused, the frightened cat bolted into an unfamiliar parking lot, dangerously close to traffic. Thankfully, one of our dedicated employees acted quickly and was able to safely rescue him before he disappeared or was seriously injured. Now named Sebastian, this stunning two-year-old Siamese mix has already shown us what a resilient and loving soul he is. Despite being abandoned by the only family he knew, Sebastian remains incredibly sweet, gentle, and affectionate. With his creamy white coat, soft peach markings, striking blue eyes, and curious expression, he is as handsome as he is kind-hearted. Sebastian has been examined by our veterinarian and is now safe in our already overcrowded rescue, where he’s finally receiving the care, comfort, and compassion he deserves.
