About Paprika

Paprika is a stunning little red girl puppy who has had a rough start but has been so resilient. She came to us from a homeless encampment after her people moved on and left her mom and litter behind. We have gotten the whole family adopted and now it's Paprika's turn. She is a shy girl but once she blossoms she has the cutest, funniest, sweetheart personality. She just needs someone willing to be patient during the initial stage when she may be nervous. - 14.5 pounds and approximately 5-6 months old. Her mom was 19 pounds. Paprika likely will be 16-17 pounds full grown. She's a wonderful size and so beautiful with her red fur. - We predict Paprika may be a Chihuahua/Pug mix. Her mom looked like those breeds. But she probably has a few other breeds mixed in there too. - Good with other dogs and has been fostered with many dogs - Good with cats and fostered with them - Potty habits are excellent and she really has gotten the hang of going potty outside - Walks well on leash. She can be a little scared of seeing new things or loud noises on walks but she recovers and her foster mom keeps her moving forward on the walk after allowing her to pause and look at the thing that startled her. - Sleeps in her crate at night - Likes to snuggle and be close to her person - Baby talk and treats make her wiggly and happy - Would do best in a calmer home setting - Kids ages 12+ if there are kids in the home only because Paprika can be overwhelmed by an active, louder household. While Paprika will need some confidence building overall, it is really rewarding to see these shyer, nervous dogs come from not so great beginnings and turn into loving, happy companions. She will just need someone willing to give her time to decompress in their home, learn the routine and build a positive relationship over time. She's not an instant gratification puppy, but she will be a wonderful puppy if her new people give her about a week to settle in and do a little work initially to build her trust. She's a happy, affectionate little pup after that initial phase. Paprika is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm tested negative, and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee also includes her spay surgery between 6 months - 1 year old at our partner veterinary clinic in SW Portland or Milwaukie. It also includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Portland or Tualatin. $350 adoption fee Fostered in Canby, Oregon APPLY TO ADOPT PAPRIKA ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG
