Penny is a young Chow girl under 2 years old, and honestly, she’s the total package. Sweet, calm, well-mannered, affectionate, and incredibly easy to live with — she’s the kind of dog who quietly becomes the heart of the home before you even realize it. This beautiful girl thrives on routine and structure. Once Penny learns the household schedule, she follows it like clockwork and takes comfort in knowing what comes next. Dinner time is her favorite part of the day, and thanks to being highly food motivated, she does the cutest little happy dance whenever meals are being prepared. Penny has fabulous house manners and carries herself like a dog who truly wants to make life easier for her people. She walks nicely on a leash, knows commands like sit and come, and is wonderfully patient during grooming sessions. She’s also dog friendly and enjoys simply being included in everyday life. More than anything, Penny wants connection. She’ll happily follow you from room to room, settle near your feet while you work or relax, and absolutely melts for affection and scratches. And when she gives you gentle little kisses with her signature purple Chow tongue? It’s game over. Penny’s story could have ended very differently. We were alerted through Facebook about a “paralyzed” dog who desperately needed help. We feared she had been hit by a car. We rushed her to the vet and discovered the paralysis had been caused by ticks. Thankfully, with treatment and care, this resilient girl made a full recovery. She’s a very well-behaved girl who prefers not to be crated and really thrives in a home where she can feel like part of the family instead of tucked away from it. Penny is looking for people who will love her, include her, and appreciate the calm companionship she brings. She wants someone who will commit to her as a forever companion. VETTING: All of our dogs are cleared by a licensed veterinarian for transport and arrive to their adopters spayed/neutered with age-appropriate vaccines completed and are microchipped.
