Tri Tip came to rescue after a rough start and is searching for someone patient to help him settle in. He’s an Akita and German Shepherd mix, about four years old, with a medium coat in black and tan. Right now, Tri Tip is still a bit on edge—he gets nervous and can be barrier reactive—but once he feels safe, he shows real gentleness. He’s known for being a soft-hearted dog beneath a defensive shell. Leash walks bring out his best side, and he takes treats with an impressively gentle mouth. He already knows sit, down, and shake, and walks well with a calm person. Tri Tip is making progress with staff and volunteers, and he looks forward to his time playing outside. However, there’s still a lot unknown about how he feels about other dogs, cats, or children. What Tri Tip does need is an experienced, patient adopter willing to help him build confidence and trust, ideally in a calm adult home with structure and predictability. He hasn’t had the chance to know what a stable, loving home feels like yet, but with the right person, he’ll reward that chance with lifelong loyalty.
