About Tri Tip
Tri Tip came to rescue after a rough start and is searching for someone patient to help him settle in. Heās an Akita and German Shepherd mix, about four years old, with a medium coat in black and tan. Right now, Tri Tip is still a bit on edgeāhe gets nervous and can be barrier reactiveābut once he feels safe, he shows real gentleness. Heās known for being a soft-hearted dog beneath a defensive shell. Leash walks bring out his best side, and he takes treats with an impressively gentle mouth. He already knows sit, down, and shake, and walks well with a calm person. Tri Tip is making progress with staff and volunteers, and he looks forward to his time playing outside. However, thereās still a lot unknown about how he feels about other dogs, cats, or children. What Tri Tip does need is an experienced, patient adopter willing to help him build confidence and trust, ideally in a calm adult home with structure and predictability. He hasnāt had the chance to know what a stable, loving home feels like yet, but with the right person, heāll reward that chance with lifelong loyalty. Tri Tip is currently being cared for at the Burnice Kraemer Sanctuary in Santa Paula, CA. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
