About Merle

Merle is already stealing hearts with his quiet charm and playful side. Brought in as a stray and now safe with us, he’s estimated to be six years old and weighs about 55 pounds. His short, black coat stands out thanks to the patch of white on his chest, a little dab of white on his chin, and those white-tipped paws that look like he’s dressed for an event. Watch Merle in action—try to catch the smile as he does his unique, colt-like zoomies and fronts his playful bows, even though toys haven’t captured his full interest yet. Merle is eager to explore and seems truly happiest around kind people. He’s shown a gentle, friendly nature, especially with other dogs, and he’ll often pause just to watch birds with curiosity. His kennel stays clean and he moves around well. While he can be a little wary of head pats at first, he loves soft, gentle pets. Right now, Merle looks a bit thin, but that’s nothing a steady routine, food, and care can’t fix. Once he gets a spa day, he’ll shine even more. This dog is looking for a soft bed, steady companionship, and a future built on love and stability. He’s already neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. He’ll be starting his heartworm treatment soon and will be ready to adopt and make the journey north by late June. He’s gotten a Proheart-6 injection for six months of heartworm prevention, too. If you’re drawn to a loyal companion who has both a tender soul and playful energy, Merle could be the dog for you. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
